Bero
Here is some background information to help you understand Bero and the rules and conventions to correctly use Bero.
What is Bero?
Bero is a mobile learning platform making learning accessible anywhere and anytime - even without an internet connection. Bero uses low cost mobile technology and offline functionality to provide quality learning in hard to reach communities. Integrating culturally responsive content with a microlearning approach and intuitive design. Bero suits learners of all ages - in classrooms, workplaces, governments and beyond. Our team of learning designers and tech-for-development specialists work with clients to customise Bero for specific needs, to deliver a best practice mobile learning experience for users.
The platform was developed by Catalpa, and is owned and managed by Catalpa.
It is a platform that can be used as either an App or in a web browser, where Catalpa can upload content developed for different projects.
How can you use Bero for a Catalpa project?
There are two components to working with Bero:
Content development using microlearning pedagogy - This is currently overseen by the Catalpa Education team
Content management system i.e. the use of the platform itself i.e. the Bero “product”. For support in this regard, reach out to Juliana and/or Peter. To find more about Bero Content Management System, please visit https://handbook.catalpa.io/bero/
In planning to utilise Bero, it is important to understand these two components and to cost appropriately in project design phase so that Catalpa staff time is covered.
