CPU & Memory

Bero is not particularly demanding in terms of processing power or device memory size. Any fairly recent device that is able to surf the web should work.

Due to the possibility of making content offline, a decent storage capacity is recommended. This will hugely depend on the type of content present in each Bero deployment.

Bero as a webapp

Bero will run on most modern web browsers in laptops, tablets, and smartphones. Bero does not currently run on iOS's Google Chrome (iPhone and iPad).

Bero as an Android app

Bero can also be installed as an app on Android devices. Any device with Android 6 or upwards is fit to run Bero.

Some features, such peer synchronisation of content requires Android 10.

Peer synchronisation: for Bero to be a resilient tool in low connectivity settings, the Android app is able to detect Bero peers and exchange the most updated content. Android devices with an OS version lower than 10 need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network in order for this feature to work. No internet connection is needed if any of the devices has already been updated. Android 10 devices are able to directly sync with each other, without the need for a Wi-Fi network.
